LSA Requirements in the UAE
What schools and families actually check — there is no single national LSA licence.
The UAE does not issue one national licence titled "Learning Support Assistant". A person can work as an LSA or shadow teacher when a school or family engages them and they have the right to work. What changes by emirate is the inclusion framework the school itself must follow.
In Dubai, private schools follow KHDA's Inclusive Education Policy Framework. In Abu Dhabi, private schools follow ADEK's inclusion expectations. The school remains responsible for the child's place in the classroom. The LSA supports that plan. They do not diagnose, prescribe therapy, or replace a speech therapist, occupational therapist, or psychologist.
Schools and families usually ask for four things: a relevant qualification or solid classroom experience, a recent good-conduct certificate, safeguarding awareness, and the legal right to work in the UAE. Himam Heros reviews identity, police clearance, and credentials before the Himam Verified badge is shown.
Specialists get three months free, then pay AED 15 once. Free external courses, such as Alison's LSA training, can be uploaded after you are Himam Verified and show as a small CPD badge — they do not change matching score. The Himam Verified badge is a document check, not a government licence.
